Field Five Year Plan

For the future we want to continue the wonderful progress made so far. Landowner discussions have resulted in the following list of future projects:

  1. Work with agencies on Biological Assessment for present and future work
  2. Establish 49 miles (2,000 acres) of fuel breaks 300 feet wide
  3. Perform broadcast burning of 6,000 acres of chaparral brushes
  4. Construct six reservoirs for catastrophic fire control and wildlife watering sites
  5. Construct seven spring developments for wildlife watering sites and fire control
  6. Setup neotropic bird monitoring and wildlife monitoring
  7. Setup maintenance scheduling of all developments, i.e., springs, roads, using biological maintenance of fire breaks, and chemical maintenance for brush control
  8. Secure before and after satellite or aerial photos
  9. Develop more communication with other CRMPs and watershed groups as well as coordination with similar groups
  10. Conduct a Red-Legged Frog inventory & develop a Safe Harbor Agreement
  11. Establish bat houses
  12. Install security gates in designated areas
  13. Setup environmental assessments (landscape-based rather than project-based)
  14. Provide a sustainable maintenance program for the future
